Can I open the capsules if I have trouble swallowing?

Yes — if swallowing capsules is difficult, you can open them and mix the contents with water, yogurt, or a smoothie. However, please note:

• Bioma uses delayed-release capsules to protect live probiotics from stomach acid.
• Opening the capsule removes this protection, which may reduce the number of live bacteria that reach your gut.
• The prebiotic and postbiotic ingredients (like XOS and Tributyrin) are more stable and less affected. 

If you must open the capsule, try to take it with food, which can help buffer the stomach acid. Still, we recommend consulting your doctor to ensure this method suits your needs.
